Last Thursday evening Uhuru Solidarity Miami held the first Days in Solidarity with African People Benefit Show at Churchill’s Pub. With nine local bands and musicians on the bill playing in support of African liberation, the show drew a large crowd that helped raise funds for programs of self-determination and economic development in the African community, led by the Uhuru Movement.
The show took place as part of a month of events happening nationwide. This Thursday, October 24th the final Days in Solidarity with African People events will take place in St.Petersburg, FL and Philadelphia, PA.
In St.Petersburg, the event will include keynote speaker, Omali Yeshitela, Chairman of the African People’s Socialist Party, as well as Penny Hess, Chairwoman of the African People’s Solidarity Committee. The event starts at 6:30PM and will take place at Akwaaba Hall 1245 18th Avenue South. Check out the Facebook Event Page for more info.
In Philadelphia, at 6PM a potluck and viewing party will be held at the Uhuru Solidarity Center, 3733 Lancaster Ave, W.
Take the Pledge of Solidarity with African people to say you are outraged by the injustices, and ongoing murders caused by police and do not unite with the system that has a massive incarceration rate of African people. Pledging solidarity means you want to see real economic empowerment and self-determination by the African community, and by Taking the Pledge you support African-led programs of the Uhuru Movement.

The successful evening won support to the Uhuru Solidarity Movement and is one of the many Days in Solidarity with African People events happening this month.
This happened amidst the city still demanding justice for the Miami PD murder of Israel “Reefa” Hernandez and the grave disparities seen in the African communities of Dade and Broward county.
We call on everyone who recognizes these injustices and wants to see real power for self-determination and economic development in African hands to Take the Pledge of Solidarity with African People right now! You will be supporting important programs of the Uhuru Movement and will be making a statement of genuine solidarity in support of African liberation!
